Home and Away wins over Stafford Rangers
With the 9-0 away win fresh in everyone’s minds it was never going to be a repeat with the opposition being more conservative and the home side with the possible mindset of we have won before stepping on the pitch. First half adders were really comfortable controlling possession with Luca Moss not having a save to make - the question was looming could we break the opposition down and it took a good 25 mins before Hallams cross shot was converted home by the onrushing Collins, five mins later goal of the game Hadley cutting inside and hitting a 25 yard thunder bolt in to the top corner, Hadley again had the ball in the net only to be ruled offside, 2-0 at the break. 2nd half pretty much the same Hadley brought down in the box only for Collins to blast the resulting pen over the bar, the third came on around the hour mark Hallam starting and finishing a fine move 3-0. Credit to Stafford they didn’t chuck the towel in and had there first shot on target in 88 mins to score on the counter attack, final result 3-1 taking the young adders to the top of the northern prem league table with a few weeks break now coming up.
Manager Wayne Hadley “said it wasn’t a classic but we were professional enough to manage the game well and not panic regards the goals eventually coming it was great to get 90 mins in for young Clay Powell who is going to be some player by the way one to keep an eye on, also leeland hallam on his birthday was lively all night getting his rewards with a goal, we got an hour under the returning from
injury Hadley's belt again scoring a good goal and finally a start for last seasons prolific scorer Jack Collins who has suffered abit this season with little niggles again getting on the score sheet so to sum the night up very worthwhile for me as a manager moving forward to have a look at the strength in depth we have in the squad, roll on the next game"
